Sam Fahd Abu Haikal was a seven-month-old Palestinian baby from Hebron in the occupied West Bank. Sam Fahd Abu Haikal died from a gunshot wound to the head after Israeli soldiers opened fire on the family vehicle on June 5, 2026. According to his father, a bullet passed through the vehicle's windshield, struck his arm, and then hit Sam in the head. The infant was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries. His mother and father were also wounded in the incident.

A plea from the family

Sam's father, Fahd Abu Haikal, strongly rejected the Israeli military's suggestion that the shooting was a mistake. He stated: "When more than one bullet is fired, when there's no warning shot and no warning at all, it can't be a mistake!"
