Their life

Saleh Ahmed was a Bangladeshi migrant worker who had lived and worked in the United Arab Emirates for approximately 25 years. At the time of his death, he was working as a delivery worker transporting drinking water in Ajman. Like many migrant laborers in the Gulf region, he supported his family back home by sending remittances. The income he sent helped his family begin constructing a house in Bangladesh. He was regarded by his family as a hardworking and responsible provider.

Saleh Ahmed, a 55-year-old Bangladeshi expatriate, spent about a quarter of a century working in the United Arab Emirates. He migrated there in search of better economic opportunities and to support his family in Bangladesh. Over the years, he worked steadily and sent money home, which became the primary source of income for his family. At the time of the incident, he was employed delivering drinking water in Ajman. His remittances had recently allowed his family to start building a house in their home country, reflecting years of savings and sacrifice. Tragically, while performing his daily work duties on February 28, 2026, he was killed when debris from a missile attack fell in the area, highlighting the vulnerability of migrant workers during regional conflicts.

How they died

Saleh Ahmed died during the regional conflict involving Iranian missile attacks on Gulf countries. While he was working in the UAE, debris from a missile interception fell in the area and struck him.

On February 28, 2026, Iran launched missiles toward targets in Gulf states as part of the ongoing regional conflict. Air-defense systems attempted to intercept the missiles, but fragments and debris from the interception fell to the ground. While delivering drinking water during his work shift, Saleh Ahmed was hit by this debris, which caused fatal injuries.

A plea from the family

His son, Abdul Haque, described him as a hardworking man and the sole breadwinner of the family. The family emphasized the hardship his death has created, as they depended on his income for their livelihood and were in the process of building their home with the money he sent from abroad.
